Block Associations

One of the most interesting and compelling things about Harlem—for New Yorkers and visitors to our city alike—is the feeling of community you get when you walk along our streets. Whether you’re in Morningside Heights, Mt. Morris, Sugar Hill or Hamilton Heights, there’s a unique sense of neighborhood that goes beyond geography and catchments and gets right to the heart of the people who live there. While you could name any number of factors that make that so, one sure reason is the strength of the community improvement and block associations that you’ll find going strong in Harlem. They may have started out of necessity—to help revitalize Harlem and support it through some significant changes—and yet they continue out of a shared commitment to and love of our part of The City. And that’s something that’s hard to find anywhere!

Welcome to Harlem has reserved space for all local block associations to publish their own page on WelcometoHarlem.com to list their mission statement and contact information.
