Regentification/Development in Harlem
The Pinnacle Group v. Tenants

Do you live in a building owned or managed by the Pinnacle Group?  Over the past several years, The Pinnacle Group has become one of New York City’s largest owners of rent stabilized apartment building. Under its Chief Executive Officer, Joel Weiner, the company appears to be engaged in a campaign to drive many tenants out of their apartments so that rents can be raised or the apartments sold for millions of dollars.

In Harlem and Washington Heights, hundred of tenants have been taken to housing court.  Many of the cases seem to be based on weak or dubious claims in the hope of frightening tenants out of their homes or wearing them down with repeated court appearances.  Most tenants cannot afford to pay an attorney to fight the very well financed landlord.

If you have been sued by the Pinnacle Group and cannot find legal assistance, contact our office (212) 928-1322.  Robert Jackson, Councilmember
