Affordable Apartments for rent at 2017 Morris Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx

Applications are being accepted for 19 affordable apartments located at 2017 Morris Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx. This building is being constructed through the Multi-Family Construction and Low Income Rental Program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and funding from New York State Homeless Assistance Program.
Qualified applicants will be required to meet income guidelines and additional selection criteria. Households may elect to submit an application by one of two methods: EITHER online OR by mail. To submit your application online now, please visit NYC Housing Connect at www.nyc.gov/housingconnect and select “Apply for Housing.” All online applications must be submitted by February 20, 2014. To request an application by mail, please mail a self-addressed envelope to: THE MORRIS APPLICATION REQUEST, New Destiny Housing Corporation, 12 W. 37th St., 7th Floor, NY, NY 10018. All mailed applications must be returned by regular mail only (no priority, certified, registered, express, overnight or oversized mail will be accepted) to a post office box number that will be listed on the application, and must be postmarked by February 20, 2014. Applications will be selected by lottery; applicants who submit more than one application to this development will be disqualified. Disqualified applications will not be accepted. A general preference will be given to New York City residents. Eligible households that include persons with mobility impairments will receive preference for 5% of the units; eligible households that include persons with visual and/or hearing impairments will receive preference for 2% of the units. Current and eligible residents of Bronx Community Board 5 will receive preference for 50%.
