Black Girl Magic Book Launch
March 31, 2018 | 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Join us as we launch The Break Beat Poets Anthology: Black Girl Magic, an anthology celebrating and canonizing the words of Black women across the diaspora, edited by Mahogany L. Browne, Idrissa Simmonds, and Jamila Woods (Haymarket Books, 2018).
This event will be hosted by poet Mahogany L. Browne, California-born, Brooklyn-based writer, educator, activist, mentor, and curator, among other contributing black women poets. The afternoon will include selected readings of poems from both the anthology and Browne’s illustrated long poem, Black Girl Magic, newly released from Roaring Brook Press in January 2018.
Cost: FREE. First come, first seated. Events are free and open to all, but due to space constraints registration is requested. We generally overbook to ensure a full house.
