About this Event
Celebrating Black Voices is an event that centers around black performance, visual artists, and black film. The purpose of the event is to shine a communal light on the art, literature of black artists as well as the nuanced experiences and expression of ALL Black voices. C.B.V. will also hold the first official screening of the short film “Bill & Robert” a film that focuses on the love story of two black men who meet in 1967 just 5 years after homosexuality was decriminalized in the United States.
Enjoy two jam-packed evenings of black visual art, vendors, tarot reading, performance and a celebration of community in honor of black history month. Enjoy visual art, and performances by local black artists in the black-owned gallery House of Mark West located in the South Bronx.
