Chuck Davis Emerging Choreographer Fellowship Workshop

Jade Charon, recipient of the 2018 Chuck Davis Emerging Choreographer Fellowship, leads a dance intensive workshop in the Kony and N’Dep dance styles of Senegal and Burkina Faso. Charon, who studied extensively in West Africa as part of the fellowship, shares the fruits of her research in this class, as well as several short films from her travels and a talk back.
This program is recommended by 92Y’s Teen Arts Week, a citywide celebration of the arts in which teens can access free or reduced price entrance to cultural centers across the five boroughs.
This workshop is open to all ages and all experience levels. We welcome teens age 13-19 to attend.
