DJ PHD

DJ PhD owes his love and desire of music to his father, the late Paul J. Heyward, Sr. Mr. Heyward always had music playing in the house or in the yard, wherever he was, there was music. Paul Sr.’s love for music was instrumental to crafting PhD’s unique approach to selecting songs to mix for his audiences.

Mixing music is very important to the Queens, New York born DJ PhD. With all of today’s innovations, the art of mixing is almost lost. In the late 80s and 90s, mixing or blending two songs together was the norm. The energy became irresistible to PhD and his journey to bring his own flavor to the world begun. Armed with his father’s daily lessons he played in clubs, private events, concerts and his own weekly college radio station in Upstate New York.

DJ PhD is a firm believer that music mixed properly can change the world. By playing House, Reggae, Latin, Rhythm & Blues, Hip-Hop or even Punjabi music, his goal is to connect with his audience providing them with confidence to let their guard down and dance. His smooth style, flawless transitions and live blends will have you immersed in an infectious groove throughout your event. Whether it is today’s hottest song or yesterday’s favorite dance cut, DJ PhD will have you dancing, having the time of your lives.
