Harlem MeetUps

Our society, as a whole, moves at the speed of – well, the internet. Sometimes it seems as if our social lives are turning into more of social networking event rather than meeting up with our friends at the local coffee house mid week for a night cap.

I spent some time looking around local resources including message boards, online communities, and then I found Meetup.com. I found a BUNCH of really great ones here in Harlem! I figured I would share them with you too and I hope to bring some social back into at least one Harlemite’s life!

The Harlem Street Painters From the bio on their page: Attention Plein-Air Painters: Join us to paint in the community of Harlem. Painting together like this is great for personal development as artists, but also for an opportunity to engage with the community. It is a uniting sort of gathering for artists. We share our way of expressing ourselves on canvas. We can do plein air landscapes, or figurative paintings, or even abstract. The colors, the activity, street vendors, music; it is very inspiring.
