Housing Initiative for Homeless LGBT Youth in Harlem

????? Cyndi Lauper doesn’t just wanna have fun. She is also serious about supporting LGBT youth! The colorful singer recently announced that the True Colors Fund, her organization that works to inspire LBGT equality, will be opening up the True Colors Residence next summer in Central Harlem for youth members ages 18-24.

What is the True Colors Residence about? The residency will mark New York’s first permanent housing facility for the LGBT youth who have become homeless after being kicked out of their homes or who felt obligated to run away.

I applaud Lauper for this initiative, since so many children don’t have anywhere to go when rejected by their families due to their sexual orientation. Bravo.

What do you think of Lauper’s True Colors Residence housing?
