Lady Cantrese and her Four Gents

With her elegant and sophisticated style, Lady Cantrese has entertained audiences since she was a youth. Harlem grown, Cantrese began singing in elementary school where she joined the school’s first glee club. She’s been singing ever since. In 2004, Cantrese released her debut CD All of Me, a collection of standards produced by Hamiet Bluiett. She has also recorded with renowned jazz artist Olu Dara on two of his CDs and a single “Just like John” for HBO. Cantrese has performed throughout New York City, including Symphony Space, Lincoln Center Library, Harlem Summer Stage, Minton’s, Lenox Lounge, Birdland, Showman’s, Londell’s, Melba’s, Red Rooster, The Iguana, Shell’s Bistro and Farafina Café & Lounge just to name a few. She’s also performed at the Iridium Jazz Club with the Legendary Sweet Georgia Brown and currently performs Monday nights at Harlem’s Nabe Underground.
