Native – Harlem Travel Guide – Sutro World
Ambiance….,Brunch…..Cocktails
When it opened in 2001, Native brought healthy grilled pleasures to Harlem, such as a spicy Atlantic salmon in soy ginger sauce and lightly grilled lemon chicken salad. French/Caribbean/Asian-flavored entrées like linguini with chicken in chipotle cream, steak au poivre, and basil curry chicken served with spicy curry sauce over coconut rice round out the eclectic menu, where the “lightly fried” calamari appetizer constitutes the greasiest dish. For vegetarians, there are selections such as black beans and red rice accompanied with garlic sautéed spinach and sweet plantain. The prix-fixe Saturday and Sunday brunch is a real bargain. It is a delight to sit outside on summer nights to enjoy a cool mixed drink or wine selected from Native’s full cocktail and wine menu.
