Schomburg Center First Fridays: Masquerade Edition
October 6, 2017 6:00pm – 10:00pm
In celebration of iconic black horror films, the Schomburg Center is thrilled to present the second annual First Fridays: Masquerade Edition! Our monthly dance social will transform into a Halloween pageant where attendees are encouraged to come as their favorite horror icons. There will be a costume contest, so dress to impress!
Guests are also invited to check out our three exhibitions Black Power, Power in Print, and Unshackled Ink. In addition, we’re proud to announce that Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey will power First Fridays. A fitting partnership as First Fridays celebrates culturally relevant occasions through local talent and Jack Daniel’s is deeply connected with the community. Your friends at Jack Daniel’s remind you to drink responsibly. Sign up for a Schomburg membership, become a Schomburg volunteer, and visit the Schomburg Shop—while networking and dancing the night away! Our host for the night will be Dhalimu from Dhali’s Closet, with deejay DJ Buka, part of the Muoka Mills Experience, in the Langston Hughes Lobby. See you there!
Cost: $10 – Purchase tickets via SchomburgCenter.Eventbrite.com
