Ease on down the road with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion as they try to figure out how to get Dorothy back to Kansas. “The Wiz” is a funky musical take on L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz.” Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Original Score, “The Wiz” includes such numbers as “Slide Some Oil to Me,” “He’s the Wizard,” “No Bad News” and “Mean Ole Lion.” Embark on this “Afro-futuristic Oz-some” family-friendly adventure through a magic land where you’ll meet munchkins, funky monkeys, Addaperle and Evillene. Catch it live at Columbia Secondary School as part of the New York Black Arts Festival.
