TWW Inc & Friends present an evening with the talented students of Brooklyn’s PS 12, led by teaching artist Bronwyn Taylor, who perform an evening of tribute to Nina Simone. Celebrating her music and contributions to the world as a woman, activist, and artist, students and parents showcase their work from the Simone residency program and highlight “The Four Women,” one of Simone’s most complex songs. Special guest artists and featured performers include: colorful Caribbean folklore performing group Something Positive Inc, baritone Lawrence Craig, high school art majors Arnel Wilson / Esi Samuels, college dance major Nia Reynolds, singing artist Zakiyyah Zakiah Modeste, Fatima Logan’s elegant performance group Vashti Dance Theater, Christopher White’s high energy group the Undaground, and more.
