Storm Saulter, a leading light of contemporary Jamaican cinema, directs this rousing underdog tale of Akeem, a talented high school runner who must rise above a turbulent home life on his way to becoming the country’s next track and field star. Pulsing with color, movement, and music—and featuring a cameo from none other than Usain Bolt—Sprinter is both a multidimensional portrait of a young man finding his way and a vibrant celebration of Jamaican culture.
