Ensemble Connect’s trademark virtuosity and versatility is showcased in a program that features two masterworks of the Classical era by Mozart and Beethoven. Mozart adds a second viola to the traditional string quartet in his String Quintet in C Major, K. 515, a mature work that includes one of the composer’s most sublime slow movements and a joyous finale. Beethoven’s Septet in E-flat Major, Op. 20, is an effervescent delight that looks back to the lyrical wind serenades of Haydn and Mozart.
