SummerStage: Denzel Curry in association with Move Forward Music

SummerStage - Denzel Curry - 6 24 2017
June 24, 2017 | 5:00pm – 7:00pm
High energy Florida rapper, Denzel Curry has a versatile range from Rick Ross to Little Dragon, delivers electric live show.
Denzel Curry – Twenty-two-year-old rapper, Denzel Rae Don Curry has already amassed a slew of stage personas and nicknames, including Aquarius’ Killa, Raven Miyagi, Denny Cascade, The Ultimate, and ULT. This sprawling collection of monikers speaks to the creatively capricious nature of both his music and being. Of Bahamian and Native American ancestry, the nascent South Florida-raised Curry grew up with an interest in poetry, that quickly transitioned into highly adept rapping while he was just in sixth grade. The precocious performer put out his first mixtape in 2011, King Remembered Underground Tape 1991–1995, which was featured on SpaceGhostPurrp’s hip hop site and immediately drew fierce attention in the underground scene. He was then invited to be a member of the established aforementioned artist’s group, Raider Klan. He performed with them until 2013, when Curry struck out on his own. His debut solo album, the lyrically agile and thematically acerbic Nostalgic 64, features an impressive collection of hip hop cameos, and helped Curry crossover into the mainstream in a hurry. His follow-up effort, 2016’s Imperial, is a markedly honest record, with unguarded storytelling and eclectic, buoyant elements of production threaded throughout. Having overcome numerous challenges, Curry’s resolute spirit shines brightly through his ever-changing music.
